“Since 2011, farmers across Canada have been taking part in a participatory plant breeding (PPB) program on wheat and oats with the University of Manitoba (U of M), Agriculture and Agri-food Canada (AAFC), and The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security (BFICSS). The goal of the
PPB program is to support farmers in developing new varieties of wheat and oat adapted to organic and ecological farming conditions.”
