“Since 2013, farmers across Canada have been taking part in a participatory plant breeding (PPB) program on potatoes with the University of Manitoba (U of M), Agriculture and Agri-food Canada (AAFC), and The Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security (the Bauta Initiative). The goal of
the PPB program is to support farmers in developing new varieties of potatoes adapted to organic and ecological farming conditions.”
